ISAFP agent shoots brgy chair

BANGUI, Ilocos Norte—A confidential agent of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), identified as Kremlin Alupay, is now the subject of manhunt operation by the local police this town.

The suspect went into hiding after killing Chairman William Tomas, 46, of Barangay Masikil in said town.

Investigations showed that while the victim was waiting for his order in a videoke bar in Barangay Manayon, when the suspect arrived with four other men. With no altercation, the suspect pulled out his gun from his waist and rippled bullets on the victim’s body.

The victim died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds.

Police Inspector Hermingildo Habon, chief of Bangui Police, established old grudge as the primary motive in the killing.

However, authorities are still conducting further investigation


2 victims in Dingras shooting turn out to be hold-up suspects

BATAC, Ilocos Norte—Two injured men who were shot in Barangay Camanga, Badoc recently were positively identified by an employee as suspects in hold-up incident transpired along the national highway of Barangay Billoca, Batac.

Police identified the suspects as Emigil Tamayor and Lito Domingo.

Investigators conducted that Monday evening, Emannuel Bolong, employee of Petron Shell Station located in Barangay Baay, Batac, while driving his motorbike going to their main branch when six armed men riding in three motorcycles flagged him down. The suspects took from him the income of said gasoline station for that day amounting to 70,000 pesos and fled immediately to unknown direction.

The following day, four men riding in two motorcycles reportedly shot in Badoc by still unknown assailants. One of the victims identified as Joey Coloma died on the scene. Wounded identified as Tamayo and Domingo were rushed to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. While the 16-year-old Pio Coloma did not suffer any gunshot wound.

Law enforcers later found out that motorcycles used in the hold-up incident in Batac were the same vehicles used by the victims in Badoc shooting.

Probers took pictures of the two shooting victims in the hospital and showed to Bolong wherein they were positively identified as the two of the six suspected hold-uppers.

Police are still investigating the identity of the four other suspects.


10 drug pushers sentenced to life in jail

LAOAG CITY—Ten accused suspects engaged in selling shabu in the province, who were arrested in different operations conducted by the members of Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Team (PAIDSOT), were found guilty by the court.

Laoag City Regional Trial Court 13 Judge Philip Salvador imposed life imprisonment for each of the accused after evidence presented proved their guilt and participation in the illicit drug trade.

Only one case filed before the court by the PAIDSOT was dismissed.

With this development, P/Insp. Teddy Rosqueta, PAIDSOT chief, said they proved that previous allegations of planting evidence in suspects are merely smear campaign.

PAIDSOT was organized last year by PNP Provincial Director Juan Luna to eradicate the proliferation of illegal drug trade in the province.


GRO files rape case vs 2 cops

LAOAG CITY—Two policemen are in hot water after a guest-relations officer (GRO) from the town of Marcos, Ilocos Norte filed a complaint of alleged rape against them before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

The two policemen were identified as SP02 Alfrante Agmata and SP01 Lolito Nacnac, both members of Marcos Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a sworn statement of the complainant, she claimed that the policemen forcibly took her from the videoke bar where she works. They even used the police patrol car and brought her to the police station where the alleged rape happened.

As a result of this, P/Senior Supt. Juan G. Luna, Ilocos Norte police provincial director ordered the relief of the two policemen from the Marcos PNP.

Meanwhile, PNP Provincial Internal Affairs Service imposed the 30-day preventive suspension against the two policemen as a part of the process in the conduct of investigation of their administrative case.

The CIDG is set to file the criminal charges before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.


LC cop arrests suspected drug pusher

LAOAG CITY—Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Philip Salvador of Laoag City Regional Trial Court 13, operatives of Laoag City police raided a house along A.G. Tupaz St., Barangay 1 this city.

The subject of the search warrant was named as Maria Elena Guerrero, 23, was present during the conduct of operation.

The policemen were able to seize one pack and small sachets of alleged shabu weighing 24 grams.

Elena was put under surveillance by the police because of reports regarding alleged illegal activities.

Earlier, the elder brother of Elena, Pedro Jr. was also arrested in a drug operation but his case was dismissed due to technicalities.

The charge of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 has been filed by the police against the suspect.


CIDG confiscates high-powered firearms

LAOAG CITY—As a part of the intensified campaign of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) against the proliferation of loose firearms, several operatives served a search warrant issued by Judge Charles Aguilar of Laoag City Regional Trial Court 12 in two houses in Barangay Navotas this city.

In a simultaneous operation in the house of Apolonio Corpuz and his son Tony, the operatives were able to confiscate three long firearms, one caliber .45 and assorted live ammunitions. However, Tony was not present during the conduct of search operation.

Corpuz admitted he owned the said firearms for his own protection because of alleged rampant theft cases particularly cattle rustling in their barangay.

Still, the law enforcers filed the charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions against the two.


Shooting in Batac: 1 killed

BATAC, Ilocos Norte—A 39 year-old woman died due to gun shot wound after she tried to pacify a commotion in a videoke bar in Barangay Billoca in this town.

The victim, Judith Jerez, owner of said videoke bar, did not reach Mariano Marcos Memorial and Medical Center alive due to serious gun shot wound of caliber .38 pistol at the back.

Investigations conducted by the police headed by P/Supt. Bienvenido Rayco showed that a commotion erupted when a costumer identified as Sixto Africa provoked another costumer Ronnie Butay without apparent reason. This prompted the victim to pacify the two men until the suspect brought out a gun and fired. The bullet hit the ictim at the back.

Africa immediately fled after the incident but he surrendered later to the Batac police.

A charge of homicide has been filed against the suspect.
