Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial director Mario Elpidio Ratuita has announced the provincial search for the outstanding Philippine National Police (PNP) station, personnel and barangay peace and order council (BPOC) as part of the observance of the crime prevention month this September with the theme: Kilos Sambayanan, Krimen ay Hadlangan. During the provincial awards committee meeting at the DILG office on September 8, Ratuita said members of the evaluation committee are scheduled to conduct their visit to the 23 police stations in Ilocos Norte starting September 14 to September 25. The evaluation committee is composed of representatives from the provincial government and national line agencies like the Department of Education (DepEd), National Police Commission (Napolcom), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine Information agency (PIA) including non-government organizations like the KABALIKAT-Communications group and the Federation of Senior Citizens Police superintendent Dominador Halog, community relations officer, of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO), reported that though all municipalities and the city of Laoag are represented under the PNP station and personnel (commissioned and non-commissioned) category only seven BPOCs from the towns of Adams, Bacarra, Paoay, Burgos, Carasi, Solsona and Laoag City will be competing in the said category. The outstanding PNP station will get P10, 000, P5,000 each for the winning commissioned or non-commissioned officer and P7,500 for BPOCs in both urban and rural category. The police stations will be judged based on performance/accomplishments (50 pts.), physical appearance (15 pts.), administrative and operational requirements (15 pts.), relationship of PNP personnel with local officials and the community (15 pts.) and the presence of LGU support (5 pts.) Meanwhile, police personnel, whether commissioned or non-commissioned will be rated according to: significant accomplishment (30 pts.); personal appearance or bearing (10 pts.); knowledge on the job based on interview process (10 pts.); education and training (15 pts.); awards and citations received (10 pts.); respect for civil rights (10 pts.), and community relations (15 pts.) Whereas, the rating of the outstanding peace and order council will be based on: service delivery performance (15 pts); effectiveness of the plan (25 pts.); support system (25 pts.); and sustainability (35 pts.)
