NFA to farmers: Sell to us for better price
National Food Authority (NFA) provincial manager Alexander C. Galvez encourages farmers in the province to sell their palay produce to the NFA to avail of a better price.
Starting this September, the agency has started its revalidation and accreditation of master passbooks of farmers’ organizations and cooperatives, including individual farmers who would like to join the palay procurement program.
The NFA’s buying price (government support price) is P10 per kilogram, with additional incentives such as P0.10 per kilogram for transport/delivery fee; P0.15 per kilogram for drying; and P0.25 per kilogram as cooperative development incentive is given to farmers’ organizations and cooperatives for post-harvest facility build-up.
