Batac, Ilocos Norte—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) dismissed a complaint filed by Irene L. Flores against four officials of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in this town for alleged violation of the Omnibus Election Code after the complainant was transferred during the election period last year.

Int’l coastal clean-up calls for volunteerism
September is the coastal clean-up month. As such concerned government agencies, non-government organizations and other volunteer groups are expected to hit the shores—not to go on vacations but to partake in the worthwhile activity of ocean conservation for the future generation through coastal clean-up drives.
Statistically, each household in the world produces a minimum of six to 26 kilograms of waste weekly. With this number range in mind, a single household can produce 100 kilograms of waste monthly or more than a ton of garbage annually.
