Ilocos Norte Governor Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. was honored at the First session of the China Shandong Twin Cities Tourism Conference held last October 21 – 23, 2005, in Shandong province, China. The conference featured delegates and representatives of over forty cities and provinces worldwide possessing sisterhood agreements with Shandong province. Among the dignitaries present were the mayors of Quebec and Regina cities in Canada, and the mayor of Sacramento, USA.

IN steps up preparation for Hawaii gov visit

The Ilocos Norte provincial government has stepped up its preparation for the forthcoming visit of Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle to the province on January 6.

Ilocos Norte Governor Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced this on November 7 saying his Hawaiian counterpart has confirmed her visit to the Philippines, particularly in Northern Philippines, scheduled from January 4 to 10, 2006.
