PSE entices Ilocanos to invest in stock market

IF YOU want your money to grow and maximize its profit to the fullest, stock trading is the answer.

This was the point stressed during the Laoag stock market road show conducted by the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. held at the Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino as they enjoined bankers, local entrepreneurs, and other interested individuals to increase their awareness in stock trading so they could take advantage of this opportunity for prosperity and progress.

Contrary to perceptions that stock trading is risky and “intimidating,” Leo G. Quinito, head of the Market Education Department of the PSE, said that if a person is up to the challenge and is willing to try and become a risk-taker, then there are many ways he could avoid risks through wise decision-making.

Quinito also mentioned that every entrepreneur or businessman’s ultimate desire is to minimize the loss of capital and earn profit as much as possible.

With the introduction of stock market trading to the “tight-fisted” Ilocanos here, who prefer to deposit their money in banks and earn low interests, Melchor C. Guerrero, PSE’s Capital Markets Development Division vice president, explained that for a minimum of P5,000 any interested individual who wants to profit may trade in stock through a broker and manage the risk of investment at minimal levels.

The said roadshow is a PSE project, which aims to reach out to small and medium entrepreneurs through the conduct of provincial roadshows to allow participants to learn the basics of stock market trading and to make them a vehicle for growth and wealth creation through initial public offering (IPO).
