DAR info officers finish DAP workshop

More than 80 participants including the Department of Agrarian Reform’s Public Affairs staff, Regional and Provincial Information Officers nationwide recently graduated in the Tagaytay Film, Broadcast and Creative Workshops held May 21-25, 2007 in DAP Tagaytay City and conducted by the Development Academy of the Philippines and the Creative Media Professionals Guild of Asia and the Pacific chaired by PAS Director Hugo Yonzon III.

Yonzon said that nobody is old to learn anything and also stressed during the opening program that said participants can use these courses even in the post-DAR scenario.

Courses offered were: Radio and Video Scriptwriting; Cinematography; Digital Editing; Photography; Optimizing Presentation Techniques; Crisis and Events Management; Company newsletter production and Writing for Audio Visual Production.

RIO Jenny Dulay, PIOs Gertrude Albano; Benito Austria, Jr.; Evelyn Paraioan and Rene Pacis represented the Ilocos Region, while one represented the LGU Puerto Princessa and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

The biggest number of participants came from the Photography class lectured by Joey Tañedo where shooting venues were done in DAP Compound Tagaytay Market and Barangay San Isidro, Talisay Batangas (3 kilometers-horseback ride to Taal Volcano).

During the graduation ceremonies, each class showed their outputs and has proven themselves as artistic photographers, digital editors, more than video and radio scriptwriters, filmmakers and cinematographers, potential company newsletter producers and active events and crisis managers.

DAP Workshop Director Maria Mercedes Robles thanked all these who made the training successful and active participants in the held courses for the seventh and summer edition, 2007

“Same courses will be conducted next year again inviting more Information Officers not only from DAR but also from other government and non-government agencies with the objective to update them on the latest trends on said courses,” Robles added in an interview with one of the participants.
