Several Ilocos Norte government officials had expressed their strong support for the establishment of a small-town lottery (STL) operation in the province provided proper guidelines would be strictly implemented.
After suspending flights to the province in February, officials of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) have expressed interests on the resumption of flights to Laoag City.
This was announced by Ilocos Norte Governor Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his press briefing at the Provincial Capitol on Wednesday saying if plans do not miscarry, there would be three air carriers servicing the Manila-Laoag route after Cebu Pacific also announced that it would service the said route.

Laoag City Mayor Michael V. Fariñas may have approved the 2006 annual budget for the city recently passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod but he insisted on the budget for the landfill maintenance, the engineering office’s general services and the maintenance of City Hall and janitorial and electrical supplies restored that he vetoed the said items.
