In line with the celebration of the National Nutrition Month last month, the City Health Office (CHO) has announced the top three healthiest babies for Laoag City. The healthiest babies are Rhaine Desiré Albano, nine months old of Barangay 39 (Sta. Maria), first place; nine-month old baby John Mark Basilio of Barangay 41 (Balacad), second place; and 11-month old Princess Dianne Lorenzo of Barangay Bacsil, third place. The three healthiest babies received cash prizes of P1,000, P750 and P500 respectively. They also received certificates of participation given by the Rotary Club of Laoag. According to Dr. Renato Mateo, city health officer, 40 babies joined the competition, who received P100 each and certificates of participation. Aside from these prizes, the babies were also given multi-vitamins and other infant medicines. The babies were judged based from their healthiness and weight, Mateo said. The awarding ceremonies for the said tilt were held on July 28 during the Nutrition Month culmination program at the Laoag City Auditorium. Dominic B. dela Cruz
