A Fariñas Trans Bus, with body number 66, plowed into a trailer truck parked in the middle of the highway in Pozzorubio, Pangasinan on dawn of August 23 killing two passengers and the bus conductor. The Fariñas Trans Inc. management immediately announced that they will shoulder all expenses for the victims, including burial for the casualties and medical assistance to the injured. Reports stated that the said bus, which en route to Manila, departed at 5:30 in the afternoon of August 22 with 17 passengers on board. In an interview with former Laoag Mayor Roger C. Fariñas, who is one of the owners of the said company, he said what happened was an accident and that the trailer truck the Fariñas bus rammed was parked on the middle of the highway without any early warning device, making it impossible for the bus driver to see it. He also said that they will also look for the owner and the driver of the trailer truck for them to hear their story about the accident.
