AFTER the Laoag City division’s topping of the National Achievement Test by garnering the highest average percentage, the Laoag City Central Elementary School added another feather to the cap as the said school emerged in the top rank in the reading comprehension for grade III pupils in the whole Region I. Central School Principal Primo Domingo made this announcement as he added that the said reading comprehension is being undertaken annually and nationally. According to Domingo, the examiners came from the Department of Education central office with the cooperation of different teachers from the different school in the city division. “Modesty aside, kasla ekspektaren mi lattan ta saan kam met a nagkur-kurang kadagiti (we were sort of expecting it since we went all out in our) preparations mi ket ninam-nama mi ngarud nga adda pagresultaan na a nasayaat dagitoy (and we were also expecting that these would end with good results),” Domingo said. He added that practically all competitions that his school has joined have reaped positive results for them be it for their teachers, pupils or the school, and even him in ranking for principals. He further stated that they have also won the clean and green search initiated by the Laoag City government as well as in academic excellence tests and drum and lyre competitions.
