The Order of Knights of Rizal [KoR] in Honolulu, Hawaii observed the death anniversary of our Philippine National hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal on December 30, 2005, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the FilCom Center Rizal Statue. Ms Susan Natividad, consul-general for Hawaii, served as guest of honor and speaker. Highlight of the Rizal Day commemoration included the recital of Jose Rizal’s immortal “My Last Farewell”, delivered by Amado I. Yoro in Ilokano. The Knights of Rizal members, joined by community leaders also made a floral offering to further honor the memory of the martyred hero. The event was held in connection with the yearlong celebration of the Sakada Centennial which was officially opened on December 10, 2005 at the Hawaii Convention Center and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel.
