Ilocos-Hawaii investors launch mango processing plant
While encouraging more investors to take advantage of the favorable economic activity in this northern part of Luzon, which has been geared towards the development on eco-tourism, agriculture, health and education, a group of Filipino investors from Hawaii is shaking up the local economy by putting up a multi-million mango processing plant in Barangay Sulbec, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
The said plant has been officially scheduled to be inaugurated on January 7, with no less than Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle as guest of honor and speaker.

LAZO BLASTS EX-MAYOR FARIÑAS
At the Laoag city council’s outreach session at Bgy. Lagui-Sail, Councilor Vicentito “Toto” Lazo scored ex-mayor Roger C. Fariñas, blaming him for the problems afflicting the city waste disposal site. Just recently, the former mayor blamed the city council for not approving the proposed budget to properly maintain the controversial landfill which the DENR had found it not to be complying with the Solid Waste Management Act.
